The Tamil Nadu government has issued a notice after Almond Kit syrup was found adulterated with Ethylene Glycol (EG) — a highly toxic industrial chemical.
🔹 What is Ethylene Glycol?
✔ Colorless, odorless, sweet-tasting, water-soluble compound
✔ Used as antifreeze & coolant in vehicles and industries
✔ Used in hydraulic fluids, paints, inks, and polyester production
❗ Highly poisonous and potentially fatal to humans and animals
❗ Automotive antifreeze (≈95% EG) is the most common source of poisoning

❗ अत्यधिक विषैला – मानव व पशुओं के लिए जानलेवा
❗ ऑटोमोटिव एंटीफ्रीज़ (लगभग 95% EG) विषाक्तता का प्रमुख स्रोत
